He Thinks He's People

That is to say that I think Martin thinks the cat is a person. Today he was playing a game where he was eating pretend food from a spoon. He took turns "eating" some himself, giving some to me, and offering some to the cat. Similarly, he often feeds Dave and me pretend popcorn from a popcorn container that ended up in his toy box. The other day he started feeding the cat too. The funniest part about it was that he was making eating noises for the cat. But I think the thing that gets me the most is the way he feels compelled to say goodbye to the cat when he leaves. And he says goodbye the same way he does to Dave when he leaves for work in the morning, he gives the cat a kiss (an air kiss thankfully) and says 'love you.' It used to be that he would only do this when we went to play outside, but lately he's been doing it when we go from upstairs to downstairs, or vice versa. I guess that those two are just meant to be the best of friends.
