Absence Makes the Toys Grow Funner

Martin is very much set in his routine, so yesterday when the time came when we usually go outside, he was waiting at the gate to go down and put his shoes on. Unfortunately, it was raining, so we weren't going to go outside. I knew that unless I was able to distract him there would be many tears, so I pulled out my secret weapon, (that I had been saving for a rainy day coincidentally) a bag of his toys that have been put away in the closet. Now I have been rotating his toys for some time, but it never worked as well as it did this time. Martin was so excited to play with these long lost toys, that I was able to get a bunch of stuff done.
