It has really struck me in the last few days, just how fun Martin can be. Here are a few examples of what I am talking about:
He loves to play outside with his bat. He loves to swing the bat at a ball laying on the ground. He is learning that he is not allowed to use the bat to hit the house or daddy's car.
We went for a walk after supper tonight and since Martin was upset at having to leave his bat behind, we gave him a tennis ball to play with as he rode in the stroller. We didn't get far before Martin discovered that if he threw the tennis ball we would go and fetch it. The neatest thing about it was that every time he threw the ball he would "count down" to his throw. It sounded something like, "de, de, de, DA!"
After we got back from our walk, Martin heard some neighborhood kids playing next door and ran over to go play with them. The girls that live next door absolutely adore Martin, so they had no problem letting him play with them. In fact, Martin even got tagged "it" a number of time during their game of tag. Martin didn't do too bad, he loved to run after the kids, so they just let him catch them. He had so much fun he didn't want to come in for bed.
