Camp Croix 2009 Part 2

Dave and I were trying to decide what to do for one more vacation before summer was over. (Although I'm not exactly sure that summer ever started.) Dave wanted to go camping. Since I am still too intimidated by the thought of sleeping in a tent with a baby we decided that Camp Croix would be a good place to go. We remembered that Shawn and Jes were going to be at Camp Croix with Jes's family so we thought we would go up at the same time to get a chance to see them before they move to Milwaukee. Then we decided to invite Amanda since she had previously expressed interest in going and since she would be a great help with the kids. Then Eric heard about it and he decided that he and his family would come too. So we ended up all going and having a great time. Dave brought along his dad's boat, and so everyone got a chance to ski or go tubing. Martin went on the tube with me, but he wasn't too thrilled with the ride. Martin did have fun playing with his cousins. They spent the whole afternoon on Monday down at the lake. Libby was a wonderful camping baby. She slept very well and didn't seem to mind being outdoors. In fact, she loved looking up and watching the leaves blow on the trees. Before we left on Wed morning Dave and I took Martin on a canoe ride. While we were on the lake the bald eagle flew very near to our canoe. It is always amazing to see the eagle, and it was a special treat to see it as closely as we did. We hope to make the trip to Camp Croix a yearly event, so I am sure there will be more opportunities to have this fun all over again.

Aunt Mae Mae was very popular with the kids.

Our cabin was right by the tether ball. The kids had a lot of fun with it.
