Libby’s Sleepover

A couple of weeks ago, Libby hosted her first official sleepover. She had her cousin Emily come over to spend the night. Both Martin and Libby were super excited about having Emily come over. So much so, that I got them to clean the toy room all by themselves with no complaining. On Friday, we met Emily and her family in the Cities for supper and then brought Emily home with us. On the way home, the kids tried to sing songs, but soon discovered that they didn’t know a lot of the same songs.

When we got home, we let the kids play for a little bit before we settled the girls down in their sleeping bags in the toy room. Libby was so exhausted from the busy day we had had, that she fell asleep almost instantly. And, with no one to talk to, Emily soon followed suit.

The next morning the kids made monkey bread for breakfast. That was a hit, all the kids had seconds. Then they spent the rest of the day playing. There was a little bit of fighting since Martin was having a hard time figuring out how to fit in with the two girls, but overall we had a quiet day.
