Last week marked Maddy’s half-birthday. She has been here for over half of a year now! She has turned into a very content and happy little girl. She sits up like a pro and has figured out that she can use her ability to roll to get closer to objects that interest her. She is starting to sleep better at night as well. We also started her on “real” food. So far she has had oatmeal and pureed beans. She has taken it in stride, but isn’t too enthusiastic about it yet. I think she does like sitting by the table at dinner time though.
On Thursday I took her to the doctor for her 6 month check up. She weighed 17 lb 4.5 oz. (75%) and is 27.5 in long (95%). She had to get three shots, but after the initial crying she didn’t seem to be too affected by them, which is good, because later that day we left to go on her first camping trip. (More on that in a different post.)
My happy 6 month old
I love how big her eyes are.
“Let me do it myself!”
She doesn’t really get sippy cups yet.
