Friday was Martin’s 5th birthday. He started the day by going to school. He was excited that he got to bring treats for his classmates. He got to pick whatever he wanted for lunch (pancakes) and supper (nachos). He also chose to have pumpkin bars for dessert instead of cake. The highlight of the day was opening his presents. His favorites were a Cars2 car from Libby and a LEGO kit from us. We also measured him and found out that he grew three inches from last year.
Martin was very excited to find LEGO candles for his ‘cake’.
Building LEGOs with daddy
Saturday was the birthday party for both Martin and Libby. Our house was filled with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. We were hoping for better weather so that people could eat outside, but we made due and thankfully nothing got spilled on the new carpet. The kids had a ton of fun playing with their cousins and new toys.
Cake!
Presents!
Libby loved her tunnel.
It was a little embarrassing when Martin basically asked everyone to leave so that he could start building his LEGOs, and the second the door shut behind the last guest he got started building…
…and he didn’t stop until he had completed all of them.
Meanwhile, this is what Libby did once the party was over.
